Objective

This association aims at supporting international students of the University of Aizu both physically and mentally.

Operations

SAISUA uses funds collected from donors to:

Give SCHOLARSHIPS to needy international students
ASSIST students with payment of premiums for their national health insurance
CO-SPONSOR International Talks that introduce cultures of the world
SUPPORT the regular meetings and volunteer community-outreach activities of the University of Aizu International Students Organization
SUPPORT the Welcome Party for new international students
Offer EMERGENCY assistance to international students in severe need

The Regulation of the "Support Association for International Students of the University of Aizu (SAISUA)"

Donations

The donations of faculty and staff at the university, and donations from Fukushima Prefecture employees, labor unions, the Aizu Sangakukonwakai (Association for Aizu Industrial-University Relations) and from private citizens in the Aizu community allow the work of SAISUA to continue and flourish. We sincerely thank all donors for their continued support.

February 5	National Health Insurance Premium	A ceremony was held for 38 international students who applied for National Health Insurance subsidies. 2,000 yen per applicant were given this time by SAISUA beneficiaries.
February 5	The second Semester SAISUA Scholarship Conferment Ceremony (Second time)	The SAISUA scholarship conferment ceremony was held at the 128 Conference room of the Research Quadrangles. SAISUA provides international students with scholarships every six months so that they can concentrate on their studies. International students in need offinancial support and demonstrating superior academic performance are selected as recipients of this scholarship. SAISUA gave 120,000 yen to each student at this time.
November 27	The second Semester SAISUA Scholarship Conferment Ceremony (First time)	The SAISUA scholarship conferment ceremony was held at the 128 Conference room of the Research Quadrangles. SAISUA provides international students with scholarships every six months so that they can concentrate on their studies. September 4	MIni International Talk	Location:Kakujyo Community Center Participants: LI Haicui, DANDENIYA WEERASINGHEGE Hiruni Indra Dhanushi, Otake(Staff of SAISUA) Labo Party Aizu Area Branch: about 30 members (Parents and their children) SAISUA was invited to Labo Party Aizu Area Branch's workshop for the fifth time. This year, two students respectively from China and Sri Lanka made presentations about their countries and culture for participants from Labo Party. Their presentations were followed by lively questions and answers.

September 5 and 11	Mini international talk	Location: From each home by Zoom Participants: Zhu Xin, NGUYEN Van Thang, KABIR Raihan Labo Party Aizu Area Branch: about 40 members (Parents and their children) and 8 leaders SAISUA was invited to Labo Party Aizu Area Branch's workshop for the fourth time. This year, two students respectively from Vietnam and Bangladeshi made presentations about their countries and culture via Zoom for participants from Labo Party. Their presentations were followed by lively questions and answers

April 7	Donation of regular meeting of the Aizu Industry Forum	The regular meeting of the Aizu Industry Forum was held in the Aizuwakamatsu Washington Hotel. The regular meeting was attended by Prof. Zhu Xin, President of SAISUA, and Mr. Sato Hitoshi, Director of the University of Aizu, Vice-President of SAISUA, and received a list of donations to SAISUA (50,000 yen worth) from the President of the Aizu Industry Forum.
