- 略歴
- 私はドバイの多文化・多言語環境で育ちました。しかし、そのような環境にありながら、外国語学習には苦労することが多く、その経験が「人はどのように言語を習得するのか」、そして「その過程をどのように支援できるのか」という問いへの長年の関心につながりました。
20代は英語教師として働いた後、大学院へ進学し、実験心理言語学に興味を持つようになりました。第二言語習得を専門とする修士課程を修了した後、言語認知科学の博士号を取得しました。
私の研究は、心理言語学的研究手法、形態的に複雑な語の処理、コンピュータ支援言語学習（CALL）、および単語予測可能性など、多岐にわたります。一見異なる研究テーマですが、いずれも「言語を可能にしている認知メカニズムを明らかにし、その知見を言語学習の改善に生かす」という共通の目的のもとに取り組んでいます。最終的には、より効果的な教育手法や教育技術の開発に貢献し、新しい言語の習得に苦労する学習者を支援することを目指しています。

- 現在の研究では、適応型学習システムを活用して、学習者の形態的に複雑な語の習得をどのように支援できるかを研究しています。

- 自分自身を大切にしてください。大学生活で大変なことがあっても、しっかり眠り、適度に運動し、水分を十分に取ることで、多くの問題はずっと前向きに向き合えるようになります。
