(Yukari Sekiguchi 4th year undergraduate student)
My name is Pham Van Thanh and I am a second year master student at theUniveristy of Aizu. First of all, I would like to thank JICE for organizing such a great event. It was really a special occasion not only for me but also for all other Vietnamese students here. We had a chance to talk with many young, highly self-motivated students from all partsof Vietnam (Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh). I learned from them their proactivity and naturalness in making conversations that I am not very good at. Their impressions of Japan made me reminisce about my feelings when I came to Japan for the first time 4 years ago. As parts of the event, we were taught how to write calligraphy and make origami thatI have never tried before though I have been living in Japan for quitea long time. It was interesting and I knew that it is not easy to havea beautiful calligraphy or origami. I hope that we will have more activities like that in the near feature with students from other countries so that we will have more opportunities to explore other cultures.
