"Welcome Party" for new international/Japanese students and faculty/staff members was held at Keyaki restaurant (2F the Student Hall) on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. In this fall, new international students from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Germany, Belarus, Russia and the US enrolled in our university. The event is jointly organized by Center for Globalization and SAISUA in spring and fall every year. There was a total of 80 participants including President Oka and Vice President Tei.

President Oka and Director of SAISUA, Prof. Anh T. Pham gave a welcome remarks, and new international students introduced themselves. Mr. Kyosuke Mori, 3rd year undergraduate student and Mr. Pham Van Thanh, 2nd year doctoral student from Vietnam took the role of the MC. Also Mr. Atomu Sato,1st year undergraduate student introduced activities of Global Lounge. The participants mingled with each other and enjoyed the beautiful performance by UoA Orchestra, Dolce. At the end of the party, Vice President Tei led the participantse to do "Ipponjime" which is a traditional clapping ritual to honor the close of a welcome event.
