Overseas Study Program
The University of Aizu is supporting overseas study in order to develop international human resources capable of playing an active role in the world since its establishment. As of April 2024, we have partnerships with 67 universities and research institutions from 22 countries and areas worldwide, and academic and research exchanges are many activities. Students can study at partner universities in North America, Asia, Europe, and other continents. At the University of Aizu, we support your career progress through the "Short-Term Study Abroad Program" and "Mid-Term Study Abroad Program" based on your objectives.
Short-Term Study Abroad Program
This program is a three-week study abroad in the spring break and provides students to experience university life overseas, improve their English skills, and be familiar with different cultures. Students attend some classes at partner universities in English. The short-term study abroad program is a part of our English classes, so you can earn credits, and the University of Aizu also supports you financially as a part of your travel expenses.
There is also a "Dalian, China - Short-term Study Abroad at Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information" program that students can participate in at their own expense during summer break.
Mid-Term Study Abroad Program
This program aims to earn credits, research, and intern at partner universities in the United States, Germany, and other countries for three months up to one year. We have a credit recognition system with some partner universities. Once students can get credit at the partner university. Students can bring back to the University of Aizu after completing the program. In addition, we will support you financially as a part of the travel and living expenses necessary for studying abroad.

Dalian Neusoft University of Information, China, Summer Short-Term Language Program 2024
The Summer Short-Term Study Abroad Program will be held again as last year.
In addition to the 2-week and 3-week language programs, the "Internet Product Design and Operation Short-Term Study Abroad Program" will be held.

Call for application of the University of Aizu Medium-Term Overseas Study Programs for AY 2024

Medium-Term Study Abroad Programs are designed for medium - to long-term study abroad at partner universities in the U.S. and Germany for earning credits, research, and internships. The program offers a high degree of freedom, as students can plan their courses and research, but they are required to have a clear purpose for studying abroad.
The University of Aizu (UoA) will support a partial for airfare and accommodation expenses. You can also receive scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) if you meet the requirements. This program will provide training in an environment as close as possible to an overseas environment, which will broaden the opportunity to participate in future short-term and medium-term study abroad programs, and you will develop excellent skills to be a person with an international perspective.

Mid-term study abroad programs are designed for mid- to long-term study abroad at partner universities in the U.S., Germany, and other countries for the purpose of earning credits, research, and internships. The program offers a high degree of freedom, as students can plan their own courses and research, but they are required to have a clear purpose for studying abroad.
The university will support a partial for airfare and accommodation expenses. You can also receive scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) if you meet the requirements. - The second-and-third-year master students who won't enroll in the UoA Doctoral Program.

・Students can be supported for Mid-term overseas study program provided by the UoA only ONCE during both undergraduate and graduate school.
・Students who participate in the Short-term Overseas Study Program are eligible to apply for this mid-term program in order to enhance opportunities

Have you made your plans for spring break yet? If you are interested in Chinese language and culture, why don't you join the "Spring Short-Term Online Language Study Program" organized by Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information during your spring break?
You don't have to arrange flights and travel insurance. If you have a computer and an internet connection, you can learn Chinese language, feel the interesting Chinese culture, and meet Chinese university students online.

Call for the fall semester online class participation of OTH Regensburg, Germany![Finished]
We are calling for participants for the fall semester online classes at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg), located in Regensburg, southern Germany. With the spread of COVID-19, our study abroad programs have been cancelled, so it would be a good opportunity to improve your communication skills by taking overseas classes online before actually studying abroad.
Five of our students participated in last fall semester online class, and other 5 students participated in spring semester online class that was held from Feb. to July. They said, "I studied with local students and have been inspired by their high motivation," and "I enjoyed learning a lot in class. Qualifications |
Students who are formally enrolled in the University of Aizu's Undergraduate School, Master's, or Doctoral programs as of AY 2018. Application eligibility for fourth-year undergraduate students is limited to those who plan to enroll in the University of Aizu's Graduate School. For second-year students of the Master's Program, application eligibility is limited to those who plan to enroll in the University of Aizu's Doctoral Program. Third-year students of the Doctoral Program and over, are not eligible for application to the program. *Does not include international students |

・Students can be supported for Mid-term overseas study program provided by The Office for Strategy of International Programs only ONCE during their enrollment including both undergraduate and graduate school at the University of Aizu. ・Students who participate in the Short-term Overseas Study Program are eligible to apply this mid-term programs in order to enhance opportunities for education and world standard research. ・Students who are not accepted for the financial support may participate in this program at their own expense. |
How to Apply |
You must read the "UoA Mid-term Overseas Study Program for Academic Year 2018" Application Guideline.
