In order to celebrate the completion of the University of Aizu Community Space Kiyare ("Kiyare" means "come on by!" in the dialect of Nango district of Minamiaizu Town) on the first floor of the Student Hall, an opening ceremony was held on Friday, December 15.
Following a greeting by TSUKAHARA Tsuneo, the President and the Chairperson of the Board of Executives of the University of Aizu, Mr. KOBAYASHI Tomoyoshi, Chairperson of the University of Aizu Support Association, gave a congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony. After that, an unveiling of the Aizu lacquered facility name sign was held. Mr. SATO Masatoshi, the Vice Chair of the Lacquer Ware Subcommittee of the Aizu-Wakamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, introduced the sign and explained how it was made. After the opening ceremony, Dean of Students KANEKO Emiko provided an explanation on the interior of Kiyare.
