Transformations in Work and Society Brought About by AI Agents
- The Role of Universities and Industry in the Age of Human-AI Collaboration -
In recent years, the rapid advancement of AI agent technologies based on large language models (LLMs) has enabled AI to enter various professional domains by mimicking and supporting human thinking and decision-making. AI agents are now playing a substantive role in replacing or collaborating with humans in areas once considered uniquely human--such as coding, shopping assistance, business strategy analysis, and advertising copy generation. As a result, the structure of industries and even the very concept of "work" are undergoing significant transformation. Amid these changes, it has become increasingly important for humans to find ways to harness AI as a tool to enhance their own abilities to work more creatively and efficiently. Moreover, such technological evolution is giving rise to new business opportunities, and industry-academia collaboration will be essential to lead this transformation. Against this backdrop, our university will host the Joint Research Forum 2025 to explore, from multiple perspectives, the impact of AI agent technologies on the world of work and society, and to discuss how education, research, and industry should respond in a world where human-AI collaboration is front and center. Through keynote lectures and panel discussions, the forum aims to serve as a venue for intellectual exchanges in which we explore the intersection of AI and social transformation and together envision the future. |
