The Sports and Health Science Seminar of Senior Associate Professor OKI Kazusa of the University is participating in a project to improve the facilities and environment of Shirakaba Park in Minamiaizu Town (Shirakaba Park as a Retreat Village! ) in the town of Minamiaizu.*
As part of this effort, each student created a digital map. This map includes photos taken by students in the area and comments from the students' perspectives. HAMADA Takezo, a fourth year undergraduate student, won the Best Map Award for the map created by the screening of the Tateiwa General Branch in Minamiaizu-machi and related parties, and an award ceremony was held at University on November 20. A point that received high marks was the incorporation of information that many people would want to know in advance, such as the location of restrooms, changing rooms, AEDs, etc., clearly indicated on the map along with photographs. The map was also highly evaluated for its incorporation of scenic spots, which is a viewpoint unique to students. Some of the maps created by other students were unique and highly rated.
In the future, the maps created by the students will be integrated and adopted as official maps.
