Senior Associate Professor OKI Kazusa(*1) of the UoA's Sports and Health Science Seminar held a training camp in the Tateiwa district of Minami Aizu Town(*2) from September 4 to 6. In this seminar camp, we participated in a project to improve the utilization of Shirakaba Park(*3) in Minami Aizu Town (Shirakaba Park as a retreat village!) with the cooperation of the Minami Aizu Town Tateiwa General Branch Office(*4). Shirakaba Park has a campground, gymnasium, playing fields, playground equipment, etc., and a crystal clear river where you can see fish swimming. Our goal is to create a park that takes full advantage of this environment, and that can be used by local residents on a daily basis, so that those who use the park can return home refreshed in body and soul.
The first day consisted of fieldwork in the park, the second day consisted of presentations by students and group work with the Tateiwa General Branch Office, and the third day consisted of report writing. We would like to continue to be involved in this project so that the ideas proposed by students and faculty can be realized in the future.
