- There will be no class on Monday, January 30. Please use this time for self-study to prepare for the final exam. I will be available for the regular office hours on Monday (1400 to 1700) or by appointment.
- On Jan 23, we will finish the rest of Chapter 6.
- The rules and policies for the final are basically the same as the midterm exam. There may be problems in which you will need a calculator.

- As announced before, we will review the Exercise 9 problems in the first half of today's class and then work on similar problems related to Chapters 4 and 5.

- Late submissions of today's exercise will be collected at the beginning of Jan 10's class.
TA has found several exercise submissions that look similar
each other. While it is OK to work together on the exercise
problems during the class, it is prohibited to submit somebody's
work as yours.
You should remember that, when we find such an act of cheating,
you will receive a severe penalty.
- No class on Monday Dec 19. We are going to work on problems similar to exercise 9 (that is, problems related to Chapters 4 and 5) again in January. Please use next Monday for self study of Chapters 4 and 5. On Thursday and Friday afternoon this week, I will be available for extra office hours for those who would like to ask questions on these topics.
- On Dec 12, we will cover the rest of Chapter 5, with emphasis on Section 5.4 "Disks."

- The course schedule for Dec 20 is replaced by that of Friday .
Therefore, we will not have exercise on Dec 20. It is also planned that we use Dec 19 for 'self-study'. More information for Dec 19 will be given on Dec 12 as well as posted here.
- Once again, (unless otherwise noted) late submissions are accepted by the beginning of the next week's lecture. If you come late to the class, your exerecise will not be accepted.
- A note on the Section 4.4.7's title, which is related to Exercise 8 problem, has been posted on the Exercise page.

- There was a student who did both FIFO and LRU in the last week's exercise, but did not put his/her name on it. Please ask the instructor if you think it might be yours. (student identified)
For this week only, we accept exercise work by 3pm without
penalty. Please come to Lab std2 (Research Quandrangles 146)
for submission. However, your answers will not be checked
before submission. It might be better to work on your exercise
problems more and submit next week (even with late submission
penalty).
It is assumed that each student has own copy of the textbook
and he/she reads the sections corresponding to the topics covered
by the lecture. While we cannot enforce this rule, you should
not expect that you can pass the course without reading textbook
(unless you already have 'near-professional' experiences
in this field).
