In order to realize the philosophy and goals of the University of Aizu, we shall define our "Ideal Faculty Member" and establish Our Faculty Organization Policy.

Ideal Faculty Member

The UoA desires faculty members who:

  1. are capable of working on educational/research activities, with a deep understanding of the founding philosophy and goals upheld by the university.
  2. are capable of conducting education/research at the university by leveraging professional expertise and consistently make efforts to improve the capability
  3. are capable of behaving appropriately as individuals in the respective positions of Professor, Senior Associate Professor, and Associate Professor in the areas detailed in the chart below, and have determination to accumulate the abilities
  4. are capable of contributing as researchers to the development of science and the realization of a sustainable society by sharing their research achievements for the common good.
  5. are capable of engaging with students and cooperating with university staff in areas of activity such as education, research, university operations, and social contribution.

Faculty Organization Policy

  1. The university shall appropriately staff faculty members in accordance with relevant laws such as the Standards for Establishment of Universities in order to realize its goals in education and research by conducting education, research, organization operation, contribution to society, etc.
  2. The university shall appropriately divide roles amongst faculty members in the areas of education, research, organization operation, contribution to society, etc. in order to systematically conduct education and research by promoting their mutual cooperation.
  3. Faculty members shall be recruited broadly from within and without the country and staffed in consideration of the balance of positions, fields of study, age, gender, etc. amongst the overall faculty
  4. Faculty members shall be recruited, hired, promoted, etc. in a fair and appropriate manner, in accordance with the definition of our "Ideal Faculty Member," the provisions of the university regulations, etc. while assuring the transparency of the process.
