On April 23, 2024, Professor Makiko Ohtake(*1) and Associate Professor Chikatoshi Honda(*2) of the Aizu Research Center for Space Information(ARC-Space)(*3), and second-year master's student Koichiro Ibuka paid a courtesy visit to Fukushima Governor Uchibori to report the results of the "SLIM(Small Lunder for Investigating Mooon)Project" together with the company involved in its technical development and manufacture in the prefecture.

 Professor Ohtake, who served as the Payload Manager of the SLIM project, reported on the successful landing of SLIM on the Moon for the first time in Japan and the results of the mission, including observation results by the Multiband Camera (MBC) onboard SLIM, and reported on the wide-ranging contributions of UoA faculty and students in the areas of observation operation of the MBC camera, creation of observation data visualization tools, and observation data analysis.

 Governor Uchibori congratulated the SLIM mission success and praised the efforts and technologies that led to the mission success, saying, "Congratulations on Japan's first moon landing," and "We are very proud that Made in Fukushima's technologies and products played a major role. "
He also expressed his hope that the participants will continue to improve their technologies and contribute to the aerospace industry.
