The University of Aizu

In September 2014, the University of Aizu was selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) project, the **Top Global University Project**. Under the initiative titled **"Producing Innovative ICT Professionals to Excel Globally through the Integration of Mind, Technique, and Body,"** the university has been engaged for the past 10 years in fostering international ICT talent as a university-wide project.
The final evaluation results of this project have now been announced, and the university has received an **"A" rating**, which signifies that the project objectives have been sufficiently achieved and that sustainable development can be expected in the future.
In particular, the university received high praise for exceeding its targets in areas such as the number of Japanese students studying abroad and the number of international students accepted. The success of graduates in international fields and the university's distinctive efforts in regional revitalization and recovery in collaboration with local businesses and governments were also highly evaluated.
Moving forward, the university will continue to strive to produce international ICT professionals with a strong identity rooted in ICT technology, the revitalization of Fukushima, and regional development.

The Top Global University Project is a 10-year initiative aimed at enhancing the international competitiveness of higher education in Japan and fostering global talent. It supports universities that are advancing reforms in personnel and academic systems to realize and accelerate exchange and collaboration with top-level universities worldwide, as well as universities that are strengthening their capacity to foster globally competent students. The project selected Type A (Top Type) includes 13 schools, and Type B (Globalization Leading Type) includes 24 schools (including our university). In the Tohoku region, there are two schools, and nationwide, there are two public universities.
