On Friday, January 31, 2025, the Public University Corporation, University of Aizu, and the Educational Corporation, Shoheiko Higashi Nippon International University (located in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture; Chairman: Hiroshi Midorikawa) signed a Comprehensive Agreement on Inter-University Collaboration.
This agreement aims to foster cooperation in key areas, including the advancement of educational activities, regional revitalization and contribution, and internationalization. In the field of education, a former professor of the University of Aizu is already contributing as a visiting professor to the curriculum development of the Faculty of Digital Creation (tentative name), which Higashi Nippon International University plans to establish in 2027.
The signing ceremony took place at the University of Aizu, where both chairmen delivered remarks before signing the agreement.
During the signing, Chairman Midorikawa of Higashi Nippon International University stated, "By leveraging our respective strengths and working closely together, we will cultivate outstanding human resources." Chairman Tsukahara of the University of Aizu expressed his aspiration to "develop joint projects across various fields and actively promote student exchanges."
This marks the University of Aizu's fourth domestic university partnership, following agreements with Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, Yamagata University, and Kyoto Institute of Technology.
