On April 15, 2024, Akimasa Ishikawa, Deputy Minister of Digital and Deputy Minister of the Cabinet Office, visited UoA, which has been promoting the development of digital human resources, in order to grasp the ambitious local initiatives and local needs, etc., and to utilize them in the future promotion of the Digital Rural City State Plan, etc.
In the first half of the session, the UoA's research, education, industry-academia-government collaboration, and start-up initiatives were explained, and Chairperson Tsukahara, Vice Chairperson Iwase, Administrative Director Tsurumi, and Specially Appointed Professor Ishibashi exchanged opinions.
In the second half of the session, with the theme of solving regional issues using digital technology and maintaining and improving public services through collaboration with startups, including those in the digital field, the lecture was moderated by Counselor Goya Kobayashi and attended by Deputy Minister Ishikawa, Vice Chairperson Iwase of UoA, Director Hisada of Aizu Computer Science Institute Co., Ltd., a UoA-based venture company, and people in charge of startup support from Fukushima Prefecture and Aizuwakamatsu City exchanged opinions.
Discussions were held from various perspectives, ranging from the current status and challenges of starting a business and the need for a support and assistance system, to the local retention of young people and regional revitalization through digital and startups, to ideas for future startups and the creation of an eco-system.
