Aizu-Wakamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Donates a Commemorative Lacquered Welcome Sign “KIYARE” for the New Community Space

We received a lacquered welcome sign emblazoned with the word "kiyare" (meaning "come on by!" in certain areas of the Aizu region) for our forthcoming Community Space, from the Aizu-Wakamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr. SONE Yoshihiro, Chair of the Lacquer Ware Subcommittee of the Aizu-Wakamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the sign to UoA Interim President ZHAO Qiangfu at a ceremony held on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

After Mr. SONE congratulated the UoA on its 30th anniversary, Subcommittee Vice Chair SATO Masatoshi introduced the sign. At the end of the ceremony, Interim President ZHAO expressed his gratitude.

The sign will be installed at the entrance of the new Community Space scheduled to open in November on the first floor of the Student Hall 1F.
