The University of Aizu established the Revitalization Support Center in 2013 and has been working on the revitalization of Fukushima Prefecture, including Hamadori (Coastal area), and has reorganized the organization to strengthen efforts not only for revitalization but also for the creation of the region.

On Monday, July 3, 2023, the signboard unveiling ceremony for the "Revitalization and Creation Support Center" was held with the participation of Iwaki City, Minamisoma City, the Fukushima Innovation Coast Promotion Organization, and the Fukushima Institute for Research, Education and Innovation (F-REI), which have concluded cooperation agreements with the University of Aizu and related to Hamadori, including online participation.

With the cooperation of the Fukushima Robot Test Field, where the University of Aizu also has a research base, the ceremony was held simultaneously in two locations, with the University of Aizu and the Robot Test Field connected via the Internet.

Following an address by Vice President Zhao Qiang-Fu, Regent Jiro Iwase, who is in charge of Industry-University-Government Collaboration, explained the reorganization and the duties under the jurisdiction of the Revitalization and Creation Support Center.

The University of Aizu side unveiled a signboard and an image panel, and the Robot Test Field unveiled a signboard mounted on "Giraffe," a disaster response robot jointly developed by the University of Aizu and a local company.
