International (PIANO) Talk. RACHMANINOV INCOMPLETE: NEVER-ENDING REDISCOVERY
On April 18th, 2022, we're going to hold a special edition of International Talk - an online PIANO talk "Rachmaninov Incomplete: Never-Ending Rediscovery" streamed live with Professor Evgeny PYSHKIN as the presenter and performer.(Participation is limited to students, faculty and staff of the University.)
For many music lovers, Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninov, or Rachmaninoff (1873 - 1943) is one of the great representatives of what some called "Russian neo-romanticism" in classical music. His contribution to the world culture is huge and even (quite surprisingly for many) includes a serious impact on the development of the first techniques for authentic music recording and reproduction using mechanical pianos. Up to now, these techniques are fascinating examples of the links between the art and technology.
The talk with music will be streamed live via Zoom on April, 18th, 2022, 18:00 JST.
