On Thursday, June 28, 2018, a research paper on the mechanism of the Super El Niño event by a research team led by Professor HAMEED Saji of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering was published online in the British scientific journal Nature Communications.
The Super El Niño event is an intensified version of the El Niño event, and while it was previously thought that the Pacific Ocean was the cause of the "Super" class, Professor Saji and his research team have found that the Indian Ocean has an influence on its occurrence.
