The 3rd UoA Postgraduate Forum was held at 3D UBIC Theater

　The 3rd postgraduate forum was held at 3D UBIC Theater on October 23, 2024 [1].This annual event is organized for postgraduate students at the University of Aizu (UoA), including students in the 4+1 Honors program, master's, and Ph.D. The forum seeks to provide an academic environment, where postgraduate students can explore and develop their research interests. It also offers an opportunity to share experiences with other postgraduate students, meet with accomplished international researchers, and obtain feedback from them. The postgraduate students have a brief introduction of their research work, which can be published, or in-progress works.

The highlight of the event included insightful talks from four keynote speakers:

• Jerry Chun-Wei Lin from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway, talked about emerging data mining trends, soft computing, and artificial intelligence/machine learning.
• Duc Doba, the founder of Tokyo Techies Corp - a one-stop IT consulting firm focusing on Data Science & AI, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and Software Development Technologies in Tokyo. Mr. Doba shared with students his extensive working experience in leading Japanese ICT companies, including Softbank, Line, and Rakuten, and his incredible story of building a successful startup IT consulting firm in Japan.
• Duc Nguyen gave a talk on his extraordinary story from an MS/PhD student at the UoA to become a researcher in Industry (at KDDI) and then to return to academia to become a lecturer at the Tohoku Institute of Technology in Sendai.
• Viglietta Giovanni, who just joined the University of Aizu from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, shared with students his broad experience in academia, from how to choose the research topics to selecting the publisher to publish the papers and how to find a supervisor to the process of job hunting, such as preparation of the CV for the keynotefaculty job, etc.

　More than twenty master's and PhD students participated in the "Poster Session" and "Oral Presentation Session", where they received valuable feedback and engaged in meaningful discussions with our professors and invited speakers. The forum concluded with the announcement of the "Best Poster Award" and "Best Oral presentation Award", recognizing outstanding students in each session of the forum.

　The 3rd Postgraduate Forum was organized by a group of the UoA's young faculty members, including Associate Professor LE Doan Hoang, Associate Professor RAGE Uday Kiran, Associate Professor THENUWARA HANNADIGE Akila, and Associate Professor SAXENA Deepika, under the advisement of Professor PAIK Incheon and Professor PHAM Tuan Anh. The forum was financially supported by the Office for Strategy of International Programs (OSIP) of the University of Aizu [2].
