AY2025 Autumn Degree Conferment Ceremony held

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Degree Conferment Ceremony of Autumn AY2025 was held. 58 individuals, including 37 from the Computer Science and Engineering Master's Program, 5 from the Doctoral Program, and 16 from the Undergraduate School of Computer Science and Engineering received degrees.

At the conferment ceremony, President TSUKAHARA Tsuneo used his address to encourage the newly-minted graduates, stating "

The cutting-edge skills you acquired here will long serve you as the basis for solving social and economic challenges with uncertain solutions, such as the declining birthrate and aging population, rural economic decline, increasingly extreme natural disasters, and growing international uncertainty. I urge all of you to train your negative capability through daily practice, develop your ability to discern the true nature of things, and continue to strive to move your lives and society towards prosperity."

For student commendation, Mr. FLAHERTY Atsumi Jean, who graduated completed the bachelor's program, and Mr. NGUYEN KHAC Thang, who graduated completed the master's program, were awarded the President's Award and a supplementary prize.

Mr. MANAWADU Udaka Ayas, representing those who completed the respective programs expressed his gratitude and future plans in his address, stating "As we bid farewell to this chapter, it is natural to feel a mix of joy and sadness. The University of Aizu has been our home, a place of growth, challenges, and transformation. I am reminded of the saying "Aizu-no-san-naki" - the three cries of Aizu: the first when arriving,the second when adjusting, and the last when leaving this beloved place. Today, as we prepare to part ways, many of us feel that third cry in our hearts. But as we step forward into the next stage of our lives, let us carry the lessons, the friendships, and the spirit of this institution with us. Let us continue the mission of the University of Aizu: "to Advance Knowledge for Humanity"."
