On Monday, November 25, 2024, the University of Aizu Research Center for Advanced Information Science and Technology (CAIST), AI Center, and Center for Space Informatics (ARC-Space) jointly held UoA Joint Research Forum 2024. The theme of the fourth annual forum was "Changes in Knowledge, People, and Society Brought About by AI -Efforts of the University of Aizu to Adapt to the Rapidly-developing AI Era-" as follows.

Part 1: Research Center & Cluster Achievements Presentation
Each center and cluster (research team) reported on their research activities. A Q&A session was also held, and the presenters answered sharp questions from the participants, making for a lively academic exchange.

Part 2: Keynote Speeches and Panel Discussion
For this year's keynote speeches, three speakers active in Japan and abroad gave talks on AI edge computing, skin-surface chemical sensing technology, the history and future prospects of AI, AI-operated buses, and other topics related to cutting-edge research and its applications. In the panel discussion, the three keynote speakers were joined by the President and CEO of an AI system development startup (a certified U-AIZU Venture) for an enthusiastic discussion on two themes.
The first was of "creating a system for industry-academia-government-finance collaboration in R&D in the AI era, as well its challenges."
The second was "the roles of and hopes of universities and industry in adapting to the rapidly developing AI era, as well as the challenges they face."
