I am deeply honored to have been selected as a 2026 Distinguished Contributor of the IEEE Computer Society.

The Distinguished Contributor recognition acknowledges sustained technical and professional contributions to the computing field and to the IEEE Computer Society, and the number of recipients recognized each year is limited to no more than 0.5% of the Society's total membership.

I sincerely appreciate the support and collaboration of my students, colleagues, research collaborators, and all those who have guided and supported me throughout my career.

Encouraged by this recognition, I will continue to advance research in artificial intelligence, computer vision, pattern recognition, human-centered computing, and intelligent systems, while contributing to the development of the research community in Japan and internationally.
