The Expanding Impact of AI Agents and Physical AI:
Industry-Academia Responses toward the Era of Self-Evolving AGI
-New Roles of Universities and Industry in a Society Where Intelligence and Physical Entities Converge

A previous Joint Research Forum explored the potential of AI agents based on large language models (LLMs) from multiple perspectives.
Today, AI is evolving beyond digital information processing technologies into "Physical AI," which enables autonomous perception, decision-making, and action in the real world through applications such as robotics, manufacturing, mobility, and social infrastructure. With the widespread expansion of AI agents and Physical AI across diverse domains, a society where intelligence and physical entities are integrated is no longer a distant vision but an ongoing transformation.
These changes are bringing new opportunities for innovation while also transforming industries, work styles, human resource development, and the roles of universities and industry. As we move toward an era of self-evolving artificial general intelligence (AGI), collaboration across disciplines and organizations will be essential to connect technological progress with social value.
This forum will introduce the latest research achievements from our university's research centers and explore the societal impact of AI through invited lectures and panel discussions. It will provide a platform for discussing the future roles of universities and industry, and for fostering new research collaborations and partnerships toward a society that evolves together with AI.
