Improving public transport in smart cities is a challenging problem of great concern in Intelligent Transportation Systems. An efficient transportation system can save the life of several thousands of people during disasters. Many countries across the globe are giving considerable R&D attention to improving their transportation networks. In particular, ASEAN countries, which are often prone to natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, tsunamis, and typhoons), prioritize their national budgets to improve their transportation networks. Consequently, analyzing transportation data is receiving a great deal of attention in many disciplines ranging from social studies, mathematics, statistics, data mining, and machine learning.

The special session on Intelligent Transportation Analytics focuses on original research that aims to solve real-world transportation problems using the concepts, tools, and techniques from statistics, data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. We expect the papers in this special session to cover a broad spectrum of topics ranging from theoretical results to practical considerations and from academic research to industrial adoption. Topics of interest include but are not limited to
