Ura-Bandai Hi no Yama Festival

The largest festival in Ura-Bandai, "the land of volcanos and lakes," the festival takes place at Kitashiobara on July 21. Dancers wearing "yukata" (cotton kimono) perform the "bon-odori", and lantern offerings are set afloat on the water. Other kinds of entertainment such as fireworks and musical events are also provided. Like the Aizu festival, it is very popular among foreign tourists.
