Bio
Hoang Le is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Aizu (UoA), Japan. His research interests are in the areas of optical wireless communications, satellite/vehicular networks, applied AI/ML, and network security-based quantum cryptography. He was a recipient of a number of awards, including the 2018 KICS/IEEE ICTC Best Paper Award, 2019 IEEE VTS Tokyo Chapter Young Researcher Encouragement Award, 2019 IEEE ComSoc Sendai Chapter Student Excellent Research Award, young researcher to participate in the 9th Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2022, 2022 IEEE ICCE Best Paper Award, 2023 ICETC Best Poster Award, 2024 IEICE Comex Top Downloaded Letter, and 2024 IEEE/IET CSNDSP Best Paper Award. Dr. Hoang Le is currently the president of SAISUA of the University of Aizu. He also served as a Chair of the IEEE University of Aizu Student Branch and a committee member of the IEEE Sendai Young Professionals Affinity Group. He is a member of IEEE and IEICE.

01 Machine Learning for optical channel prediction
We focus on developing an efficient channel prediction scheme using machine learning to improve the performance of optical wireless systems under the impact of weather conditions.

Students will use AI/ML to optimize the network performance, e.g., routing/congestion control prediction.
