Since being selected for the "Top Global University Project" (Global Traction Type / Type B) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in FY2014, the University of Aizu has implemented various globalization initiatives over a 10-year period until FY2023 (March 2024).
The efforts, achievements, and the status of continuing initiatives to improve international sustainability after the conclusion of this project were compiled into a post-project evaluation conducted during FY2024, and the final report was submitted.
As a result of the review by the Program Committee, the University received an "A" grade on a 5-point scale (S to D) from MEXT on March 21, 2025.

*The Challenger Badge System was terminated at the end of March 2024.
The University of Aizu Challenger Badge System is used to recognize and reward students by giving a digital badge for participation in extra-curricular activities such as international events, hackathons, and programming contests. Users and organizers of an event can follow each other on this system, so they can create a community, gathering people with common interests. This system helps students to develop their skills at an international level, and can also be used to get an advantage in job hunting.

Students can gain challenger badges through the system by participating in a lot of activities. We aim to develop students' competency of taking action that leads to achievements and enhances their learning and technical skills by learning and competing with others.
