Researchers from the University of Aizu, primarily faculty members of the Space Informatics Research Center (ARC-Space), together with students, are participating in the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)'s Hayabusa2 project.
The University of Aizu team also contributed to Hayabusa2's flyby of asteroid Torifune on July 5 by participating in observation planning and mission operations.
