University of Aizu Faculty Member Appointed as Fukushima Prefectural Police Cybercrime Countermeasure Advisor.

　On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Akihito Nakamura, Professor (*1), Director of the Research Center for Advanced Information Science and Technology (*2) of the University of Aizu, was appointed as "Fukushima Prefectural Police Cybercrime Countermeasure Advisor" and received letters of appointment on campus. Professor Nakamura has been serving as an advisor since FY2017.

　The Fukushima Prefectural Police Headquarters has been operating an advisor system since 2003 to provide guidance and advice from a professional perspective in order to promote comprehensive cybercrime countermeasures, information security measures, and public awareness activities.

　Cyber crimes are becoming more malicious and sophisticated, and the number of victims continues to increase.
We will continue to work on countermeasures in cooperation with the university and the police.
