Over 20 students and administrative/faculty members worked on making Christmas ornaments with Aizu cotton during the workshop. The participants, some of whom were not familiar with Aizu cotton, learned about its history and unique characteristics. Even those who had never tried sewing succeeded in crafting ornaments, following the guidance provided by an instructor from Aizu Machikata Dneshokan (information center/shop of Aizu traditional crafts).
The ornaments created in the workshop are used to decorate the Christmas tree in Kiyare, which will be displayed until the end of the year.
The workshop was carried out as a pre-opening event of a new community space "Kiyare", which was prepared as one of the 30th anniversary commemorative events.
