On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, Akihito Nakamura, Professor (*1), Director of the Research Center for Advanced Information Science and Technology (*2) of the University of Aizu, was appointed as "Fukushima Prefectural Police Cybercrime Countermeasure Advisor" and received letters of appointment on campus.
The Fukushima Prefectural Police Headquarters has been operating an advisor system since 2003 to provide guidance and advice from a professional perspective in order to promote comprehensive cybercrime countermeasures, information security measures, and public awareness activities.

In addition, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 and Friday, July 15, 2022, two students of the University of Aizu, Makoto Iwabuchi (M2) and Kotone Sasaki (U3), were appointed as "Fukushima Prefectural Police Cybersecurity Volunteers" and received letters of appointment on campus.
Cybersecurity volunteers monitor the web, report illegal websites, and engage in efforts such as public awareness activities for cybercrime prevention.
We have been cooperating with Fukushima Prefecture's cybercrime prevention efforts through our students appointed as cybersecurity volunteers for Five consecutive years from 2018.
