Following an anonymous complaint regarding four papers published by University President and Chairperson of the Board of Executives Toshiaki Miyazaki, the university established an investigative committee to investigate the papers in question. As a result of said investigation, it was determined that he had reused parts of his previous papers without proper citation (self-plagiarism). This announcement was made in accordance with Article 15, Paragraph 1 of the Regulations on the Prevention of Impropriety Concerning Research requiring a public announcement.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to university students, personnel, and other related parties.
In response to this incident, the University will once again work to ensure thorough education on research ethics.
University President and Chairperson of the Board of Executives Miyazaki has offered to voluntary return 20% of one month's salary.
