On October 26, Toshiaki Miyazaki, Chairperson of the Board of Executives and President, visited Kyoto University of Foreign Studies(※) to make an inauguration greeting to Yoshikazu Morita, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors, express thanks to him for lending their facilities for our entrance exams, and promote further academic exchanges. President Takeshi Matsuda and others welcomed us. From the University of Aizu, Professor Ian Wilson, Director of the Center for Language Research and Director of the Center for Globalization, Professor Emiko Kaneko, Director General of the Student Affairs Department, and Senior Associate Professor Kazuaki Yamauchi, Deputy Director General of the Student Affairs Department, also attended.
On October 27, a conference was held to discuss collaboration between students from both institutions, exchange programs for students and faculty members from both institutions, joint research between the two universities, etc.
In 2007, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and the University of Aizu signed the "Basic Agreement on Exchange and Cooperation between Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and the University of Aizu". The purpose of this agreement is to contribute to the development of both universities by promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions, and exchanges between students are being carried out.
