The Rotary Club of Kitakata (※1) onated a Sergeant's cherry tree (Oyamazakura) to the UoA on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
The UoA was selected as the site for the tree, which was donated as part of the centennial celebration project for the Rotary Foundation.
A tree planting ceremony conducted that day was attended by chairperson Asao SUZUKI and other members of the Rotary Club of Kitakata, a UoA international student who is receiving the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship, a faculty member and international student who had received said scholarship previously, and others.
It is expected that we will be able to admire the tree's pretty blossoms next spring.
