A team project with the participation of our university's faculty members has been selected for the GENIAC call for proposals.

　On October 10, 2024, a press release was issued by Future Corporation (*1) regarding its selection for the GENIAC (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge) (*2) (*3). GENIAC(*4) is a project launched in February 2024 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to strengthen the development capability of generative AI in Japan. This adopted project is being developed by a joint team whose member is Senior Associate Professor WATANOBE Yutaka of the University of Aizu(*5).

　In this adopted project, Future Corporation. aims to build a language model that is strong in software development in Japanese, and will develop it in a joint team with Professor SUZUKI Jun , Center for Language AI Research, Tohoku University, Visiting Assistant Professor ODA Yusuke of the Natural Language Processing Laboratory, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, and Senior Associate Professor WATANOBE Yutaka of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering/Division of Information Systems, the University of Aizu. The project period is scheduled from October 2024 to April 2025.
