[Last Update] 2010-03-09
1st-year students from Tajima Junior High School in Minamiaizu Town, visited the University of Aizu on Thursday, February 18, and participated in computer trial programs: "Operate Computer by UNIX", "Disassemble Computer to Understand Mechanism" (instructed by Assistant Professor Kohei Otsuyama, Performance Evaluation Laboratory) and "Translate Human Movement onto Digital Model (Motion Capture)", to deepen their interests in computer through hands-on experiences. Students enjoyed the programs under the instruction of our faculty and students. They also attended a short lecture on English to have a taste of distinctive feature of the University's education. Assistant Professor Emiko Kaneko, Center for Language Research, taught them a way to speak English words with correct pronunciation by actually letting them pronounce the words.
The University welcomes visitors to tour the facilities. Please feel free to inquire if you are interested in participating in experience learning of computers during the visit.
