On Monday, April 13, 2015, Katherine Hammett and Paul A. Christensen from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (RHIT*) were invited for a Lunchtime Meeting at the University of Aizu Lecture Theatre. The subject of the meeting was "Practical Education Support for Promoting Post-Graduation Job Placement and Further Education." During the meeting, the pair introduced RHIT's unique characteristics and initiatives.
RHIT is a private university founded in 1874 in Terre Haute, Indiana. It's undergraduate engineering programs are highly renowned, with the institution ranking 1st place 16 years straight in the US News & World Report's "Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs."
The institute is also one of the UoA's most important partner universities. Exchanges including mutual visits by each university's president, acceptance of exchange students, and faculty exchanges have continued since the two universities signed a general agreement in May of 2006.
At the end of the meeting, Hammett spoke to the participants, stating "I would like you to learn the wonder of learning new things in a new environment."
