Aizu IT Nisshinkan Symposium

[Last Update] 2010-01-06

The "Aizu IT Nisshinkan" held a symposium to introduce results of its activities in the final year of the program. The "Aizu IT Nisshinkan", a three-year education program of the University, was launched in AY 2007 with the adoption for the "Support Program for Contemporary Education Needs" sponsored by MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) to train human resources that will support our local communities. The uniqueness of the program is to provide education/research activities for experience of business creation. A team named "Venture Experience Workshop" was organized in response to each strong demand of our communities, and students participating in the program have studied know-how needed to create business utilizing local resources and a spirit of creativity through hands-on practices using the University's IT technologies as a core.
The symposium consisted of 2 sessions. A poster session was held for the general public for exhibition of results of research conducted by each workshop with explanations by students, and "Petit Experience", a practical seminar giving a brief introduction of activities by 2 workshops was also provided in the first session of the symposium. In the second session, a special lecture was given by Mr. Hideaki Terada (President, Casio Support System Co., Ltd.) to send a message to students for their future. His speech included the importance of self-analysis and encouraged them to dive into the world with positive intent. Students representing 3 out of 10 workshops presented results of their activities. They expressed their thoughts about participating in actual development of software and other products, all their efforts and pleasures they made in the process of their activities.

Details about activities of each workshop are introduced in the "Aizu IT Nisshinkan" official website. Please visit here to read more articles. (Only in Japanese)
