Talk with University Students from 13 Countries
On May 30, 40 students from 13 countries, including ten countries of ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand, and East Timor visited the University of Aizu. They came to Japan to deepen their understanding of the country on "JENESYS," the international youth exchange program subsidized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. They were staying in the Aizu region at the time.
Those international students and UoA students split into ten groups and freely enjoyed a pleasant talk. While it was just about one-hour long, each group seemed to have a rousing talk in a friendly atmosphere.
After the talk, Midori Morino, 2nd-year student, said smiling; "The students from Asian countries participated in the talk very actively and I really enjoyed talking with them. 50 minutes flew so quickly." Another participant from UoA, Naoki Fukazawa, a 1st-year student, stated the experience inspired him; "I had a wonderful time talking to students from countries which I am not constantly involved with. I really want to participate in another event of this kind hereafter."
All the other participants also seemed to fully enjoy the valuable international exchange held in the early summer sunlight.
