On Thursday, March 5th, 2015, Professor Koichi OTA (Center for Cultural Research and Studies) and Professor William ROZYCKI (Center for Language Research), who are both retiring at the end of this fiscal year, gave commemorative final lectures.

Professor Ota has worked for the University of Aizu for 21 years since 1994 and formerly served as the Director General of the Department for Student Affairs, etc. The theme of his lecture was "Long University Life for 21 Years", and he spoke on difficulties and memories in the time of the Director General of the Department for Student Affairs. Professor Ota gave students a cheerful message; "I hope you will improve computer technologies further to be experts."

Professor Rozycki has served as a professor at the Center for Language Research since 2008. The theme of his last lecture was "Exploration of Ancient Japanese", and he talked about characteristic pronunciation of ancient Japanese, etc.

Faculty and administrative staff members, students and graduates gathered at the Lecture Theater to listen to the culmination of their researches. In the question and answer session after the lectures, some questions on their tips of healthy life and future visions, etc. were raised, and which reflected the two professors' personalities.

After the question and answer session, the two received flower bouquets with appreciation for their many years' dedicated service to the University.
