The Global Lounge Christmas Party was held at the UoA cafeteria on Monday, December 15, 2014.

The "Global Lounge" is part of the Top Global University Project and provides opportunities for UoA students, faculty and staff members at the university to become familiar with English and the international environment. Its activities will continue with various themes.

The Global Lounge has met every week since this October, and this party was its first campus-wide event. Over 50 UoA students, faculty and staff, including Junior College Division students, joined the party.

A guest speaker Ms. Mary Torricke-Barton, an Assistant Language Teacher at Aizu Gakuho Junior High School, talked about Australian Christmas.
Christmas in Australia, which comes in midsummer, is very different from that in Japan. Everyone attending the party greatly enjoyed her talk very much. They also enjoyed playing quiz games and exchanging gifts.

The party was filled with warmth and fun.
