On June 22, 2015, the scholarship conferment ceremony for the Aizu General Scholarship was held at the UoA along with a presentation ceremony for a certificate of appreciation.
The "Aizu General Scholarship" is a grant-type scholarship for UoA graduate students established by Aizu General Holdings Co., Ltd. (Aizuwakamatsu City *). The scholarship was founded in accordance with the wishes of Aizu General founder Tomoyoshi Kuribayashi, the late father of company president Hisashi Kuribayashi. Every year, one student will be selected to receive 100,000 yen per month for a year, for a scholarship worth a total of 1,200,000yen. It is the first time a private company has created a scholarship exclusively for UoA students.
Four students applied for the inaugural edition of the scholarship. As a result of examination by the selection committee, Kazuhide Kon(1st-year Master's student)was selected to receive the scholarship.
At the scholarship conferment ceremony, Aizu General Holdings President Kuribayashi presented Mr. Kon with a certificate for the scholarship. In addition, University President Ryuichi Oka presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Kuribayashi.
