Launch Ceremony for the Japan’s First Regional Cryptocurrency “Byacco” held

A ribbon cutting ceremony marking the launch of "Byacco", Japan's first block chain based regional cryptocurrency, was held at the University of Aizu Student Hall on Thursday, July 9, 2020. The event was attended by President MIYAZAKI, SHIBUKAWA Tomoo, the Chairman of the Aizuwakamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, TERUSHIMA Toshiaki, the president of Student Life Support Corp., FUJII Yasushi, a UoA visiting professor and a director of AiYUMU Co., Ltd., and TAKEMIYA Makoto, the Representative Director and CEO of Soramitsu Co., Ltd.
Byacco is now being used at the UoA's cafeteria and the university shop.
