Placed 131st, the UoA ranks in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2018 for the first time

The UoA was ranked for the first time in the THE Asia University Rankings 2018 (※1) published by the British educational journal on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. The university was ranked 131st in Asia and 15th amongst the 89 Japanese universities that were ranked.
The ranking is calculated based on thirteen indicators in five categories, Teaching, Research, Industry Income, International Outlook and Citations. The UoA was given especially high marks for its international outlook (ranked 1st among Japanese universities) and the number of paper citations (ranked 8th among Japanese universities).
In the THE World University Rankings 2018 (※2) published in September 2017, the UoA ranked between 601st and 800th in the world.
