This is to notify you that a university employee was confirmed to be infected with the COVID-19 virus.
1. Infected individual:
Male employee in his 30s residing in Aizuwakamatsu City
2. Actions before infection was confirmed:
Tuesday, January 25: The individual visited a medical institution in Aizuwakamatsu City,tested pseudo positive for coronavirus antigen, so a PCR test was conducted. The PCR test returned a positive result.
3. Current Status:
No one from the University of Aizu was in close contact with the virus.
4. Response by the university:
We have taken steps including disinfecting the facility accessed.
Classes are conducted remotely.
