Notice of Confirmed Case of COVID-19 (August 22, 2021 Fukushima Prefecture announcement)

This is to notify you that a university student was confirmed to be infected with the COVID-19 virus.
1. Infected individual:
Male student in his 20s
2. Actions before infection was confirmed
Friday August, 20: The student visited a medical,
and underwent a PCR test.
Saturday, August 21: The PCR test returned a positive result.
- As a result of the investigation by the public health department,
a friend of the infected student (UoA student) was defined as a
close contact. The defined student plans to undergo a PCR test.
- Both students have not entered the university campus since
Saturday, August 14, 2021.
3. Current Status:
The individual is currently recovering at home.
4. Status of University Facilities
Access to all facilities remains available as usual.
