This is the final day of the course. Student teams completed development and presented their results.
Each team continued coding in the morning. The Web conference and Slack tools were busy with communication among the members.
The teams prepared for the presentation in the afternoon.
Students especially discussed how to present the originality of their application.
Then, the presentation started.
First, Team D gave the presentation. They proposed a web application to support planning events to revitalize the Omachi street. It allows anyone interested in the street to list monthly event schedules and to share ideas of new events.
Next, Team A presented their application that allows visitors to obtain points by giving reviews for the shops they visits. The reviews as well as information about the shops are displayed on concisely so as to support future visits.
Next, Team B presented their application to support exchange of ideas to bridge the gap between citizens and government so as to develop the street together.
Finally, Team C presented an application to support communication between customers and shop owners. Their idea is to lower the barrier in entering a small shop from the street by facilitating prior interactions on the application.
This concludes the course. Each team was able to propose and develop very nice, well considered application. The course was also useful for students to learn and practice project management. It was also a good opportunity for them to get used to collaboration in an online, distributed environment.
In October, the "Practical Project Development" course will begin. Students will use what they have learned in this lesson to create higher level applications.
